Will help ‘accelerate’ UE4 development efforts

Unreal Tournament and Gears of War maker Epic Games is opening up a new studio in Seattle, WA that “will be initially focused on engineering efforts” for Unreal Engine 4.

“The proximity to key partners, the density of world-class talent and all the factors that make Seattle an attractive place to live convinced us that it is the perfect locale for Epic’s West Coast operation,” stated Epic Games president Mike Capps. “We are looking to hire even more of the best engineers around to contribute to Unreal Engine 4, which we believe is set to change the way we all make games.”

A number of programming positions are available on Epic’s recruitment page. Currently, the company is looking for senior-level talent “specializing in online game services and the infrastructure to support them” to flesh out this team. As someone who lives in the Pacific Northwest, it’s nice to see more of the industry come up this way.
