The announcement of Battlefield 4 has had some gamers worried that online support for Battlefield 3 will now erode — and they probably have a good reason to worry if they spent more than the price of the game on DLC and premium services. Fortunately, EA has set all fears to rest, pledging committed support.
“Just as we’ve continued to support and maintain Bad Company 2, we intend to continue providing the best Battlefield 3 experience we can well into the future and past the release of End Game and Battlefield 4,” said EA’s Ian Tornay in a statement. “There are several teams at DICE. Starting work on Battlefield 4 does not mean that we will be abandoning Battlefield 3 or working any less hard to bring you the best expansions we can.”
Silly gamers, of course Electronic Arts is going to keep supporting Battlefield 3. It has so much more stuff to sell you.
