EA surrenders, gives Battlefield 3 PS3 users their 1943

After incurring Internet rage and a class action suit, Electronic Arts has finally given up and made good on its broken promise to give Battlefield 3 PS3 owners a free digital copy of Battlefield 1943. Every now and then, angry gamers can hold a publisher to account!

EA has set up this website which contains information on how to obtain a 1943 voucher. The vouchers will appear on November 26 in Europe, December 10 in North America and December 17 in Japan.

1943 was originally promised for PS3 users at E3, but when Battlefield 3 released, it was nowhere to be found. EA quietly confirmed there was no free game on Twitter, angering fans and people who don’t like being lied to. Eventually, a lawsuit was thrown EA’s way. Sad it had to come down to legal threats in order to make the company fulfill a promise, but it worked.

Now if only we could get EA to stop being such a penis about everything else.
