EA debuts survival mode in Star Wars Battlefront

Beautiful ’70s explosions

We saw a bit of Star Wars Battlefront‘s competitive multiplayer earlier today, but at Sony’s press conference tonight, Patrick Bach of DICE showed off its cooperative survival mode. A small team of rebels fight off the Imperial forces on a desert planet resembling Tatooine.

The effects are really impressive, to the point where some in the Destructoid editor’s chat room expressed doubt as to whether it would end up looking like that. I’m hoping so; I particularly like the 1970s-era Hollywood explosions with sparking fireworks for added effect.
