E3: Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking announced for Kinect

Ubisoft has announced a new title in their Rayman spin-off series, Raving Rabbids. A Kinect-exclusive title, Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking will return to the early days of the manic creatures as party games.

In an on-stage demonstration, two of the mini-games in the product were shown. First was a version of whack-a-mole using augmented reality that put the Rabbids on the floor in front of the players to be stomped upon. The second game, “Fill the Shape,” has players trying to fill in the shapes which appear on the screen using bodies. And, because it’s not something for which the Kinect camera has to track motion on, Ubisoft pointed out that the game technically can function with more than two players at a go.

It looked cute, zany and fun — right in line with my expectations for this series. Raving Rabbids: Alive & Kicking will be out for Xbox 360 on November 8th.
