E3: Kinect Fun Labs hits Xbox 360 today

Today, Microsoft’s Kudo Tsunoda unveiled Kinect Fun Labs — a collection of tools for Kinect developers and the community — while also pulling a Sega: it’s available today for all Xbox Live members.

A few games were shown off. Kinect Me took pictures of the player, automatically creating an Avatar. The end result seemed more “realistic” and slightly creepier than the current, cartoony Avatars. Finger Tracking snapped photos of the player, allowing them to “draw” in front of and behind the pictures. It was kinda rad.

Then, Kinect Googly Eyes was demonstrated. The presenter had a plush monster that was scanned in by Kinect and turned into an on-screen item that could be interacted with. Remember when they teased skateboard scanning when Kinect was announced? Who knew they were serious.

Also, calling it now: Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster is the best-looking Kinect game.
