Kindled Orchid is back to Destiny 2, and its god roll is somehow even more glorious than it was last time. Many players wanted to see it return with Into the Light, but it’s finally here. Better late than never.
Its triumphant return is marked by a tremendously stacked perk pool. In fact, you could make a case for most of its perks featuring in a god roll, so it’s hard to go wrong with it. Here are our favorite Kindled Orchid perks in Destiny 2 and how you can get them, based on perk data from light.gg.
Kindled Orchid PvE god rolls in Destiny 2

- Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling, Smallbore, or Polygonal Rifling
- Mag: High-Caliber Rounds, Light Mag, Appended Mag, or Flared Magwell
- First perk: Kill Clip or Repulsor Brace
- Second perk: Rampage, Destabilizing Rounds, Demoralize, Master of Arms, Explosive Payload, or Magnificent Howl
- Basically, don’t get Eye of the Storm and you’re set.
Kill Clip is one half of the duo that made Kindled Orchid famous in Destiny 2, so naturally, it features in our god roll. It’s not just for nostalgia’s sake, though: having a damage perk in the third column usually means you can pair it with something spicy, and that’s certainly the case for Kindled Orchid.
Repulsor Brace, on the other hand, is the key to leaning on this hand cannon’s Void synergies in the fourth column, making it a good choice even if you’re not on the purple subclass.
“Everything but Eye of the Storm” sounds hyperbolic, but it’s accurate considering Kindled Orchid’s stacked fourth column. There’s a use case for everything, and in this case, all options are viable enough that it’ll come down to preference. Any of these options could be a contender for a god roll in different weapons.
Kill Clip and Rampage is a throwback to the old days and has become more viable with the buff to weapons in Monument of Triumph, since it stacks on rapid kills. Explosive Payload is a staple of 140rpm hand cannons since it gives you far more effective range in PvE and boosts damage, and Master of Arms is an easy buff to trigger with weapon kills. Magnificent Howl is the trickier of the bunch here since it depends heavily on your aim, but it can work for both PvE and PvP.
Last but definitely not least, the grape-flavored Destabilizing Rounds and Demoralize are excellent choices here, especially when paired with Repulsor Brace. This gets you a portable Void kit regardless of subclass.
Kindled Orchid PvP god rolls in Destiny 2

- Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling, Corkscrew Rifling, or Arrowhead Brake
- Mag: Ricochet Rounds, Accurized Rounds, or High-Caliber Rounds
- First perk: Kill Clip, Rangefinder, or Keep Away
- Second perk: Eye of the Storm, Magnificent Howl, or Master of Arms
Kindled Orchid is also quite formidable for the Crucible due to a few strong contenders. Kill Clip works well in both activity types, and having it on column three opens up room for another damage-boosting perk in column four.
For consistency, you have Rangefinder for slightly more zoom, which gives you a little extra effective range. Keep Away requires you to be at least 15 meters away from any foes, but it adds a a meter or two before damage falloff kicks in.
The fourth column is up to personal preference. You can pair Kill Clip with Master of Arms for an easy double-damage combo or with Magnificent Howl for a bigger but riskier buff. Eye of the Storm is a conditional perk, improving your weapon’s handling and accuracy as your health gets lower.
How to get Kindled Orchid in Destiny 2

Kindled Orchid has a chance of dropping from Arena Ops completions, alongside the rest of the reissued Black Armory weapons. You can attune to this weapon from your Inventory menu, which should give you a 50 percent chance of it per each reward. If you have bonus drops, this means you’re almost sure to bag at least one of them.
Alternatively, you can focus it on Zavala’s menu in the Tower. You can’t get any tier fives this way since it’s capped to tier four, but you can upgrade any roll you get. This won’t add any perks, however, just the benefits.
