E3 10: Next Heavy Rain DLC chapter on hold

Recommended Videos

While E3’s been chock full of great news for just about everyone so far, Heavy Rain fans — and especially those who liked the “Taxidermist” DLC — might want to brace themselves a bit. Quantic Dream’s Guillaume de Fondaumière has told Game Informer that the second installment of Heavy Rain DLC has been put on hold for the time being. The reason? PlayStation Move compatibility comes first.

Now that’s not awful, but here’s where it gets worse: as a result of the release’s timing, de Fondaumière believes Quantic will simply move on to its next project. And that, of course, means that “The Taxidermist” might be all the DLC we get.

While I’m not a big Heavy Rain guy, I can certainly understand why this must suck — for example, Penny Arcade Adventures met a similar end because of Hothead Games’ other projects. But who knows? Maybe Quantic Dream’s next project is a Heavy Rain sequel, or something else that’s awesome, right?
