A being with the power to slay gods? Say it isn’t so! For a few heroes in Marvel Rivals, unfortunately, it is indeed a reality.
Currently listed as “missing” in-game, the Strategist hero and Asgardian god of mischief Loki is not currently playable. And it appears that the game’s newest hero Gorr the God Butcher has something to do with it. Yeah, that title tracks.
You may know Gorr from the movie Thor: Love & Thunder where he was portrayed by Christian Bale. Let’s hope he’s better utilized in Rivals than he was in that film, widely considered to be one of the MCU’s worst.

Marvel Rivals season 10 patch notes
Season 10 kicks off on Friday, Sept. 11, and Gorr the God Butcher joins the roster alongside it.
New hero: Gorr
Gorr is rumored to be a Duelist hero, using the Necrosword to deal damage to all those in his path. In the lore, the sword has the power to kill even gods, so Loki’s fate is a mystery for the time being, although I wouldn’t bet on him being truly “dead” forever.
But do not be surprised if more gods end up slain for the time being very soon.
