E3 10: Kinect Adventures! looks tech demo-y, kind of rad

Recommended Videos

Kudo Tsunoda and co. were on hand at Microsoft’s E3 press conference to present Kinect Adventures!, which we’ve seen videos of before; we just didn’t know it. This is the game that includes the river rafting minigame you’ve no doubt seen already. Yeah.

While “20 unique Kinect adventures” were promised, we only got to see the aforementioned rafting game and an obstacle course-esque one. As far as launch titles for a device like this go, I found the obstacle game to be pretty neat.

Players stand on a moving platform and need to jump or duck to avoid oncoming objects. The goal is to collect as many coins, or whatever the heck they were, on the journey. At some points, this required specific body positions and weird poses in order to collect them all.

Also, while this all goes on, a camera will fly around at snap pictures of you looking super goofy. If you’re a crazy person, you can then share these photos on Facebook.
