DS and Wii launches in India, yes, launches! And I thought Europe had it bad

This kind of news will not stop me complaining about games not getting released in Europe, but it certainly puts one’s personal gaming gripes in perspective. Did you know that the Nintendo DS has never been officially released in India? Well now you do, because Nintendo has announced that its DS and Wii systems are being released on September 30.

Samurai-India and HCL are working together to distribute the systems, and have already start unofficially supplying retail chains. The Wii shall be priced as INR 19,990 while the DS is to be priced at INR 7,990. The distributor’s site, Samurai-India Nintendo, is still under construction as evidenced by the cheap looking .gif of a construction worker.

Well, time to rejoice, India. Just make sure Pakistan doesn’t nuke you while you’re too busy playing the hottest new releases like New Super Mario Bros. and Nintendogs.
