Most Dragon Ball fanatics that were alive during the retro era have probably played, or at least heard of the Butōden series. Making its debut in 1993 on the SNES in Japan, the 2D fighter was something else, allowing for both aerial and ground combat with the press of a button.

While it’s been a while since we’ve seen a new entry, the newest issue of V Jump magazine is revealing a new 3DS game called Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butōden, which will have over 100 playable characters and team battles.

Sadly, the last game wasn’t ever localized, but given the popularity of the 3DS, there’s hope.
