What We Do in the Shadows

Ubisoft Montreal has announced another free-to-play weekend for its high-intensity team shooter Rainbow Six Siege. Anyone wanting to get in on the action gratis can do so from Thursday, March 5, until Sunday, March 8, on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.

Players will be given access to all maps and modes, as well as 20 “legacy” operators, so although your grubby mitts will be kept off of my girl N0kk, you’ll still have Ash, Sledge, Thermite and friends with which to rock walls, doors, and eardrums with. Should you decide to pull the trigger (pun fully intended) on a full purchase, then any profile progression from the weekend will carry over to the main game.

In alignment with the free weekend, a price promotion on multiple bundles will see discounts of up to 70% on Base, Deluxe, Gold, and Ultimate Editions of Rainbow Six Siege across all platforms. This sale is expected to run until around March 18.

The next big event in the Siege calendar is the launch of Operation: Void Edge, which will see the arrival of intergalactic traveler Iana and the wall-running powerhouse Oryx. Void Edge marks the dawn of a new era, with the development team recently revealing its plans to overhaul operators, maps, and base mechanics over the next two years, transitioning Siege into a whole new generation of gaming.

The future looks brighter than a panicky Ying Candela rush.

Rainbow Six Siege is available now on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
