Did EA Access accidentally announce the name of the next Battlefield game?

Maybe… maybe not

A tweet from the EA Access team may have unwittingly revealed the name of the next Battlefield game.

Or not. That’s the fun with rumours – we’re never quite sure, right?

Responding to a query on Twitter (via VideoGamer), the official EA Access account said Battlefield Hardline had been added to the EA Vault to “celebrate the Battlefield 5 event tomorrow”.

Battlefield 5, eh?

As yet there’s been no confirmation of the name, nor period, of the next Battlefield game, and there’s a 50/50 chance that the game will be called that – because 5 follows 4, naturally – or it’s a just an internal holding name. But this is the first time we’ve seen a EA representative formally refer to the game as Battlefield 5.

Whatever it is, we don’t have to wait too long for confirmation one way or the other; all will be revealed in just a few hours time. Until then, you can watch this 8-second teaser trailer 5,107 times.
