Devolver Delayed Showcase

Devolver Delayed reveals five titles delayed until 2024

A celebration for the games we haven't played yet.

As promised, Devolver Digital streamed their Devolver Delayed showcase today. In typical Devolver fashion, the showcase lasted a whopping three minutes with the goal of turning a negative announcement into a positive one. The upbeat video offered an opportunity to celebrate the games we can’t play yet.

Overall, the video had a bit of a Nintendo Direct vibe with a similar red and white color theme. Furthermore, the narrators in the background of the video kept an upbeat tone as they went through each title one by one. As I said, classic Devolver Digital fashion.

Here’s the three-minute Devolver Delayed Showcase in its entirety:

Five Devolver Digital published titles delayed until 2024

In total, five games have been pushed back to next year. Perhaps the biggest delay is the action-adventure title The Plucky Squire. As the video put it, the 2D/3D adventure game forgot about the fourth dimension: time.

Stick it to the Stickman, Anger Foot, Skate Storyand Pepper Grinder are also all now releasing in 2024.

This year has already seen some big releases, with quite a few still planned to round out the final months of 2024. Furthermore, the contested release schedule for the rest of the year might make one consider a brief delay. However, Devolver Digital pointed out that these titles simply need a little extra time.

Also, even though these five titles will see a delay, the showcased ended with Devolver pointing out there are still titles launching this year. Gunbrella, Wizard with a Gun, The Talos Principle 2, The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood, and Karmazoo are still slated for 2023. Finally, the DLC for Broforce Forever and McPixel 3 are also going to release this year.

No one likes delays, but Devolver definitely handled them in a fun way. Even still, if you’re a Devolver fan you have a lot to look forward to in the future with some very interesting releases coming in both 2023 and 2024!
