Delicious Killzone 2 concept art looks good enough to hug

Concept art rarely tells one much about a videogame, other than how good at drawing some people are, but they’re usually worth fawning over nonetheless. Here is some really swanky artwork pertaining to Killzone 2, which has shot up to number one on my list of DO WANT games.

I really like the creepy, cowl-covered Helghast snipers in the above image and the battle scenes seem to capture that “sci-fi-meets-WWII” atmosphere that Guerrilla has always gone for. As a self-confessed sucker for the awesomeness of orange-eyed space fascists, this stuff gets a thumbs up.

Hype for this game is getting to dangerous levels, and it was high expectations that killed the first game. Here’s hoping that the promising early reviews and mad catchphrases such as “let the hype engulf you” are justified in their excitability. If the PS3 can get one good, lasting, online shooter this year, then the PSN might finally get a little foothold. A little one, mind, but a nice step forward.
