Publisher City Connection has revealed a release date for the PC port of legendary anime shmup rerelease Deathsmiles I & II — the double pack of sky-fighting, tea-serving mayhem will hit the Steam platform on June 28, two years on from its initial release announcement. I’m sorry, it’s not my fault.

Deathsmiles I & II, which launched on console platforms in 2021, compiles three classic Cave shmups into one handy package. The release includes the original Deathsmiles (2007), the revamped Deathsmiles Mega Black Label (2010), and the beautifully titled sequel Deathsmiles IIX Merry Christmas in Hell. In the Deathsmiles series, players guide a bevy of Goth Lolita gals as they blast their way through Cave’s typically intense shmup action.

Each title features a selection of build modes as well as its respective content from the original Xbox 360 console releases. Several difficulty settings will be available, as well as online rankings and a Training Mode — allowing players to practice their most troublesome stages in order to fine-tune their scores and gameplay efficiency. Additionally, a Japanese special edition will be made available which includes a mousepad, a soundtrack CD, and the previously released Gothic wa Mahou Otome crossover DLC.

While the physical edition has not been confirmed for the west, you can bet your bottom dollar that the DLC will be made available. Deathsmiles I & II hits PC (via Steam) June 28. It is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
