The demo for Mistfall Hunter isn’t the full version we get later in July, with currently six classes to enjoy. All offer unique playstyles and have their respective pros and cons.

If you want to get an early competitive edge over your opponents, you’ll want to use classes that do well on the meta.

Mistfall Hunter demo class tier list

To separate the six classes, I have used three different tiers. S-tier is mostly the strongest set of classes, and they perform the best on the meta. A-tier options are close and viable alternatives to S-tier options. B-tier choices aren’t really meta, but you can use them if you like what they offer.

S-tier

  • Sorcerer: The Sorcerer is easily the strongest class in the demo. It does well in PvP, but I found it to be a better option in PvE. You can do significant damage to single enemies, easily taking them down. Some AoE abilities are also well-suited for clearing swarms. As long as you take care of the low health, clearing in-game content won’t be an issue.
  • Mercenary: While the Mercenary isn’t as strong as the Sorcerer, it’s one of the easiest classes to master. It’s your bread-and-butter sword-and-shield character. As an alternative, I also tried going the hammer route, and it was quite fun. While the class is pretty average in PvP, clearing PvE enemies won’t be an issue.

  • Blackarrow: If you like killing enemies from range, trying out Blackarrow isn’t a bad choice. You’ll have good range, decent damage, and debuffs for your enemies. The health is a cause of concern, but as a DPS, the Sorcerer offers more potential. If you still like being an archer, Blackarrow will help you clear plenty of in-game content.
  • Shadowstrix: This can be considered as S-class once you master it. The Shadowstrix doesn’t rely on direct attacks. Instead, you’ll need to ace stealth. This is also one of the rarer classes that work better for PvP. However, you’ll have to stay in the shadows and avoid direct combat as much as possible.
  • Withered Knight: If you just want to hack and slash into anything that moves, the Withered Knight is a practical option. You have a massive sword that kills anything caught in its radius. However, you’ll need to keep the momentum up; otherwise, you’re just fodder for the enemy.

B-tier

  • Seer: The Seer is the only healing class in the game. Unfortunately, you’ll need to play in a well-coordinated team to get the best out of the class. Playing Seer as a solo is a horrible experience, and you’ll mostly end up failing miserably. If you want to master the Seer class for the main launch, I advise finding a group of people to play with.
