CCP to bring its experimental EVE-VR to E3

Team hopes to release it in some form

In an extensive developer blog, CCP writes about how its virtual-reality space combat game EVE-VR (or EVR, if you’re in a rush) for the Oculus Rift headset came about. A prototype version was playable by Fanfest attendees, leaving the rest of us to sign a petition — yes, a petition! — expressing our interest in the project.

It’s not yet clear if this title will ever see a wider release, but I’m going to continue harping on that while I can. The company is said to be “considering various options” and will bring EVR to E3 2013 for private showings, both positive signs for those following the Oculus Rift.

“I am sure that many people on the team will continue working on it in their spare time, and we hope to be able to release it in some form in the future,” reads the post. We’d like that.
