Best of gamescom 2012 winners announced!

Recommended Videos

gamescom blew our expectations away and showed us exactly why it’s one of the most popular videogame conventions in the world last week. We saw a ton of great games, and nominated loads of titles in 12 different categories, including Best of Show.

We’ve already revealed our Community Choice Award which you had a say in. Now it’s time for you to find out what we picked for the best showings at gamescom.

And the winners are …

Congratulations to developer Treyarch Studios, as Call of Duty: Black Ops II is our Game of the Show winner. The team is breaking the cliched formula of first-person shooters by giving the series a dramatic facelift with player choice in the single-player, creating a new standard (all over again) for the competitive multiplayer scene, and embracing the future of gaming with their eSports push.

Congrats to all the winners and nominees. Like we said at E3, we’re in for a great year of gaming with all these offerings on the horizon.
