Battlefield 4 has adopted a new user interface on consoles

The same ‘unified’ UI that Battlefield 1 will have

DICE has rolled out its new “centralized” user interface for Battlefield 4 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The revised UI is the same one we’ll see in Battlefield 1 this October and in fact if and when you own both games, it’ll be possible to switch between them right from the in-game menu. Now, I don’t know how often that feature will actually be used, but consistency across the games is nice.

“Besides being a total visual overhaul, there are a number of changes to how you actually play with friends,” says DICE. “There are some updates to Squads that should make spawning on your buddies a much smoother experience. There are other changes as well, many of which you’ll notice as you poke around. A big one is the inclusion of a recommendation engine that suggest maps, modes, and more.”

One thing people quickly found in the update is what seems to be the main theme for Battlefield 1, which you can listen to right here. As for PC players, you’ll have to keep waiting for the new UI.
