Whether you are on a Companion Quest for Wyll or exploring Act 3’s map, the entrance to Ansur’s Lair can be challenging to find. It’s one of Wyrmway’s hidden secrets that shows a whole new world in BG3. Here’s how to get inside Ansur’s Lair in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Ansur’s Lair location
When heading deeper into Act 3’s map, go to Wrym’s Rock Fortress at the coordinates ‘X:1, Y:199’. However, be sure to equip a character with a Lightning damage spell, as you’ll need it later down the line. Enter a door on the left side, in the room with the Ancient Sigil Circle waypoint.

Beside the tank-like Steel Watcher will be a hidden set of stairs, which you must interact with for the ‘Passageway’ entrance. This will take you to Wrym’s Rock Prison. Since it’s a prison, anyone who travels there is considered a trespasser. Thus, the door will be locked ahead, where a sleeping guard lies.

You can intimidate/persuade the guard, Breva Brightmoon, to unlock the door. The ‘Prison inspection’ dialogue choice worked best for me, avoiding any combat as a result. The technique may involve a few rerolls, but it doesn’t hurt to savescum if all else fails.
When Breva opens the door, a crossroads will be ahead. Take a left to reach the entrance to Ansur’s Lair in the Wyrmway. This is where the Lightning spell comes into play. Use your spellcaster to hit the two Dragon Head Torches with Lightning. A hidden entrance will appear in between; go over the crate to reach it.

Continue to follow the pathway to discover an Iron Gate, the passage to Ansur’s Lair in Baldur’s Gate 3. Speak to the Statue of Balduran to open the door ahead of you to explore around. There are also a few murals to inspect to learn more about the area.
To exit Ansur’s Lair, you must complete the Chamber of Justice, Courage, Strategy, and Insight. It requires a lot of puzzle-solving, so bear that in mind before going forward.
