After Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched earlier this year, Ubisoft says it’s tabling remakes in the franchise for now.
According to the publisher in a new franchise update, the focus is now on its two main in-development projects, along with the live-action Netflix series, and “projects you haven’t heard about yet.” But the publisher cleared up that it does not have any more remakes “actively in development,” so don’t wait around too long for Assassin’s Creed II Resynced or something.

The next major mainline title, Codename Hexe, is “making steady progress…though there is still work ahead of us,” Ubisoft warned. “We know the wait has been long, and we’re grateful for your patience and continued enthusiasm for the project.” The next update is coming in 2027, so the game likely won’t be seen until late next year at the very earliest, but 2028 and beyond is most likely.
The multiplayer-centric “Codename Invictus” project is also still in the works, and the game is “now evolving in an exciting direction that better reflects” the franchise’s core pillars “while staying true to its multiplayer ambitions.
“We’re proud of the work so far and very excited for the year ahead. Invictus is still in development, so information you come across online may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate,” Ubisoft said. “We’ll keep testing new iterations and update you as soon as we have more to share.”
Elsewhere, a New Game Plus title update is coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and one more final major content update for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will also add NG+, along with a Nightmare difficulty mode and new takedown animations.
In closing, Ubisoft said that with this new update, it wanted to “reiterate the principles guiding that work: staying true to what makes Assassin’s Creed unique, continuing to innovate, delivering diverse experiences, and elevating the quality and consistency of our games.”
