An update for Street Fighter X Mega Man is on the way

Plus, other juicy details

When Capcom was asked near the launch of Street Fighter X Mega Man about a possible new version of the game that fixed some rough edges, we were told it “might” be coming.

But in this mega-interview with Capcom’s Senior Community Manager Brett Elston, we’re given new information on a concrete “Version 2” of the game. While the update allegedly doesn’t add any content, it will address undisclosed design concerns (the only one mentioned specifically is the fact that the game closes instantly without confirmation if you hit the escape key).

Other neat bits of the interview highlight the fact that traffic for the game’s download page was “insane,” and “broke the site,” which indicates “a pretty clear sign of interest in the character and brand.” Elston also goes on to note that the over-production of 8-bit Mega Man games would lead to a lack of freshness, and explains why the game isn’t called “Mega Man X Street Fighter.”

There’s a whole heap of great info in there for Mega Man fans, so head on over and check out the full interview if you want a few hints on the possible future of the blue bomber. According to Elston, they’re not done with the 25th Anniversary celebrations yet.
