The crossbow is indeed a marksman rifle

Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 features plenty of marksman rifles for players to use in battle. But some, if not most, aren’t worth your time in the battle royale. To help you out, you can find all of the Warzone 2.0 Season 2 marksman rifles ranked below.

All Warzone 2.0 Season 2 marksman rifles, ranked

A Marksman rifle is generally a mix of an assault rifle and a sniper rifle. These guns find themselves in this middle range where they can fire off shots that are immensely powerful and possibly even one-shot some enemies. However, they can be tweaked to be slightly faster.

As such, marksman rifles could theoretically work quite well in Warzone 2.0 Season 2 where the open spaces of Al Mazrah and Ashika Island make their long-range capabilities viable. Unfortunately, the end result is that only a few of them are worth considering.

7. Crossbow

Yes, to answer your question, the new crossbow in Season 2 is a marksman rifle. For some reason, this weapon was categorized here, instead of its own unique category. This is despite the fact that it isn’t a rifle.

The crossbow is a slow-firing mid-range weapon. If you can land one of the slow-firing bolts that require you to charge them up, it will deal solid damage. However, the unbelievable slowness and need for charging make it nothing but a gimmick in the end.

6. Lockwood MK2

The Lockwood MK2 is a standard lever-action rifle, but it can act like a shotgun more than anything else, oddly enough. It is best tweaked to work like a decently fast shotgun in close to mid-range, but there are still better shotguns out there. And certainly better marksman rifles, which is why it isn’t worth using.

5. LM-S

The LM-S struggles as a marksman rifle due to its glaring flaws that demand a buff at some point. It has a tiny magazine, which can be fixed with attachments, but at the cost of the already problematic speed and handling. At that point, you’re better off using one of the better rifles that at least fix one of these issues.

Certainly, with some adjustments, the LM-S could leap through this list to the top. But that will have to wait and see for a future season.

4. TAQ-M

While it is no TAQ-V, the TAQ-M takes the classic Scar and moves it into the marksman rifle territory. This is the first on this list to be a decent enough rifle that some players stand by. However, it is still far from the best of the bunch.

Its magazine is a decent enough size and its range is one of the best in the class. However, its bullets don’t pack the punch they need to, nor is it fast enough to be recommended. The TAQ-M isn’t the worst but if you want a Scar in battle royale, stick to the TAQ-V.

3. SA-B 50

The first weapon on this list that is highly recommended, the SA-B 50 is a solid marksman rifle. In all honesty, it is more of a traditional sniper rifle than a marksman. If you can stomach that, this is one of the better snipers in the game.

It’s not that fast but every shot is devastating if you can land it. Though the SA-B 50 is good, it may not be the weapon that some players are looking for in a marksman rifle.

2. SP-R 208

The SP-R 208 has some similarities to the SA-B 50 in that it is essentially just a sniper rifle. That said, it has some benefits over the previous entry on this list that make it far more recommended for those looking for a typical marksman rifle.

It is built like a truck, able to decimate foes with each bullet. But it has some speed for its class that shows its marksman capabilities. In this way, the SP-R 208 is arguably the best sniper rifle in the game. But it’s not quite the best marksman rifle out there.

1. EBR-14

When it comes to the best marksman rifle in Warzone 2.0, the EBR-14 is the clear winner. Part of this has less to do with how great this weapon is and more to do with the fact that it simply fits the marksman rifle category better than everything else.

The EBR-14 is the do-it-all weapon in this group, able to excel at speed, range, and power. It handles well, too, allowing it to fire off quick shots from afar that will down enemies in no time. It is the easiest to use and the weapon that best represents the versatility of the marksman rifle category.

If you’re looking for a gun that is a true blend of an assault rifle and a sniper, EBR-14 is the one to go with.
