Both the past and future pokemon

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet bring several changes to the franchise, but none are as eye-catching as Paradox Pokemon. For those still making their way through Scarlet & Violet, just know that you’ll have to wait a bit to see how these monsters fit into the story in Paldea. Check out our article here to learn more.

That said, if you just want to reference which Pokemon have Paradox forms, then we have you covered. Check out the current roster of Paradox Pokemon below, with more to likely follow as The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC packs release. Just keep in mind that Paradox Pokemon are classified as unique monsters, and therefore cannot be bred.

NOTE: Light spoilers for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are featured below.

All Prehistoric Paradox Pokemon

In Pokemon Scarlet, players will encounter Pokemon that appear to be from the distant past. Violet players will have to trade to obtain these monsters, unless they happen to appear in online Tera Raids. Below is each monster you’ll find, along with a mention of the Pokemon they appear to be based off of.

Great Tusk – Past form of Donphan
Scream Tail – Past form of Jigglypuff
Brute Bonnet – Past form of Amoonguss
Flutter Mane – Past form of Misdreavus
Slither Wing – Past form of Volcarona
Sandy Shocks – Past form of Magneton
Roaring Moon
– Past form of Salamence
Koraidon
– Legendary past form of Cyclizar

All Future Paradox Pokemon

Conversely, players of Pokemon Violet will encounter Pokemon that seemingly come from the future. Similar to the above, Scarlet players can only obtain these Pokemon by trading, unless they happen to encounter one via an online Tera Raid battle. Check out each future Pokemon below.

Iron Treads – Future form of Donphan
Iron Bundle – Future form of Delibird
Iron Hands – Future form of Hariyama
Iron Jugulis – Future form of Hydreigon
Iron Moth – Future form of Volcarona
Iron Thorns – Future form of Tyranitar
Iron Valiant – Future form of both Gardevoir and Gallade*
Miraidon
– Legendary future form of Cyclizar

*As of writing, Iron Valiant is the only Paradox Pokemon to have two Pokemon as its source. In-game literature specifically states it is based off both, interesting enough. We can also see this in Iron Valiant’s Fairy/Fighting-Typing, which uses both the secondary types of Gardevoir and Gallade.

Event Paradox Pokemon

The below Pokemon were made available via a limited-time Tera Raid event. So far, these Pokemon don’t appear in the Pokedex, so they aren’t necessary for completionists. They may become permanently available as part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, but we can’t quite confirm this just yet.
