Primal’s pit price
On Tuesday Ubisoft’s Far Cry Primal released on consoles with a mostly positive reception. The PC version is scheduled to launch a week later on March 1, and as of writing can be found cheaper than the standard $59.99.
Four retailers have discounts up to 40% off due to currency conversion favor. GamesPlanet, Funstock Digital, and DLGamer all come with the “Legend of the Mammoth” pre-order DLC though GMG makes no mention of it (probably because the source of the keys are “authorized distributors” vs. straight from the publisher).
- $35.99 at GMG <- login required to see discount
- $41.99 at DLGamer
- $41.80 at Games Planet <- £29.99 conversion, available worldwide
- $41.79 at Funstock Digital <- similar to above
Post-release we expect these sites to offer some sort of discount on the game, but there will probably be a slight jump in price during release week/month.
Digital Apex Edition?
If you like the discount but really wanted that slightly more expensive “Apex Edition” there is a discount available. Games Planet has the price tagged at £34.99, which converts to about $48.75 USD.
The Apex Edition at Games Planet contains the same “Legend of the Mammoth” pre-order bonus DLC that you’d find on the standard edition plus a few other digital goodies such as the unbreakable “Blood Shasti Club” weapon and four enhancement packs that are rare resource items you’d only find later in the game (you pay for early access to items). For an extra $5 or so, we think you can safely skip the Apex Edition.
