A new year, a new grind.
Call of Duty is back with Modern Warfare 4, which means a whole new suite of weapon camos can be unlocked to show off your skills and persistence in online lobbies, whether it be in multiplayer or the extraction mode DMZ.
There are several dozen camos to unlock in MW4, and it all begins when you start leveling up your guns and shooting your first enemies, be it other players or AI opponents found in the DMZ. Either way, you’re always ranking something up.
Here’s everything we know about the camo grind in MW4.

All weapon camos in MW4 and how to get them

Similar to past years, this is how camos work in MW4:
- Unlock eight universal Military camos you can equip across all weapons.
- After this, there are three Special camos to unlock, along with three Completionist camos and three Mastery camos (both weapon-specific), for a total of 14 camos per gun.
- Once all of a weapon’s camos are unlocked and is max level, you unlock Completionist and Mastery camos and challenges, which is where the real grind begins.

Camo progression is shared across MW4 multiplayer and DMZ, so all kills you get will count towards camo challenges. Once full details about each Military, Special, and Completionist camos are available, they will be added below.
