PSN gets HD camcorder viewing application

Recommended Videos

Filmy (gross name!) lets you connect your AVCHD cameras to your PS3 for movie viewing and organization. It’s an application, not a game. With this, you’ll be able to hook up your camcorder via USB and control playback and sort through the videos you’ve taken. This application comes from the Sony Corporation, makers of fine AVCHD video cameras.

Filmy can be found in the media category of PSN. You can try it out as a demo that features full functionality for 15 minutes. You’ll then have to drop $5 to unlock the software for full use. The PlayStation Blog says that the icon will show up on the video bar of your XMB after installation.
