COD Elite membership extended 30 days due to failures

Call of Duty Elite has struggled to cope with demand since it launched this week. Due to a ludicrous number of fans signing up, the service has been up and down more than my pants when Bobby Kotick traded his lukewarm sin hole for my positive review score

As a means of compensation, Activision will be extending all current Elite subscriptions by thirty days, piling an extra month on top of whatever time players have. Meanwhile, access to Elite is “temporarily” limited while it struggles to cope with demand. The company has quite openly admitted that its servers were “crushed” by new members and says it’s working hard to resolve all the problems.

That not even Activision expected Elite to be this popular is insane. I didn’t think it would be so popular that it would choke itself, but Elite is apparently that desirable. Still, at least it’s not an exterior service that the actual game depends on, so that’s some comfort.
