Pokemon Black/White starters now have English names

Nintendo has kicked off its Pokemon Black and White marketing for the rest of us, and some people aren’t too happy about the English names for the starter Pokemon. And by that I mean they’ve taken to the streets as if the end is nigh. I’ll let you decide if that’s a reasonable reaction or not.

From left to right, our starters are Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott. Oh God, rapture! But seriously, doesn’t everyone just opt for custom names for their team anyway? I mean, that’s why swear words were invented. More to the point, it seems like most self-proclaimed serious players are in it for the stats.

It was also revealed that the new region will be dubbed Unova rather than Isshu, as it’s known by in Japan. That’s the bigger loss, if you ask me.
