The first Fallout: New Vegas patch is out on PC

The first of what will likely be many updates has appeared for Fallout: New Vegas, Obsidian’s buggy-but-brilliant post-apocalyptic roleplaying game. The first patch is for PC, and while it won’t fix everything, it’s stitched together a few of the game’s open wounds.

The update fixes “quest and scripting issues” and will automatically download to your game. As of this time, there’s no news on an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 patch, but Bethesda has said it plans to support the consoles as quickly as possible.

It seems that Bethesda has its work cut out for it if it wants to fix New Vegas’ veritable army of problems. As badly as some of these fixes are needed, however, I think we can agree on one thing — Doc Mitchell’s spinning mutant freak head needs to stay!
