Gunstringer and the perils of repetitive arm motions

Max and Tara grabbed Twisted Pixel CEO Michael Wilford at PAX this weekend and ruthlessly grilled him about their new Kinect title, The Gunstringer. In the process, she created what will no doubt be an animated GIF by the morning in demonstrating the actions player two performs to win in the multiplayer mode.

They talked about the challenges of developing action games using Kinect and how the game’s concept plays neatly into the mechanics, how it keeps players from getting worn out and how it helps keep players from feeling like an idiot while performing the game’s actions.

Between this, Rise of Nightmares and Sesame Street: Once Upon A Monster, I’m happy to see some games arrive for this control system that look like real games and not just tech demos. Pretty soon, I’ll have to rearrange my living room to take advantage of some of these titles.
