Christian police groups want to ban The Darkness II

Various Christian law enforcement groups have colluded to express their distaste for upcoming 2K Games sequel, The Darkness II. They’d like to see it go very far away, in fact, for fear that it will make people hate the police. Go figure.

A large coalition, formed from the International Christian Police Fellowship, the Christian Police Association, the Swiss Christian Police Association and the Germany Christian Police Association have sent a letter to developers and politicians, complaining about game violence overall and singling out the first-person demon-tendril-simulator.

They believe games like The Darkness II promote hatred of law enforcers and “idealized violence” and that politicians should refuse to support the industry in order to stop real-world crimes. Because, as always, it’s obvious that videogames are the reason why anything bad has happened, ever. Nobody’s ever done something bad because of what they gleaned from the Bible, right?

I’m frankly more concerned that there are groups of police officers who identify themselves through the fact that they believe in things without needing any evidence. Not sure I’d want them handling any case I was involved in.
