Fashionably late: Modern Warfare 2 now has a demo

Recommended Videos

Better late than never? As of this week, Modern Warfare 2 now has a single-player demo. It went live yesterday on PlayStation Network and hit Xbox LIVE earlier today (download link).

You can probably understand why Infinity Ward didn’t do this prior to the game’s launch last November. Modern Warfare 2 is something of a known quantity at this point, and putting together a demo would’ve been time away from active development.

Still, why now? Are the add-on maps to blame? At any rate, I say download the demo if you aren’t necessarily into “war games” or even first-person shooters. The “Cliffhanger” level — a good example of MW2‘s thrill-ride-style design — is playable in full.
