Atari goes web, casual with Atari GO program

Recommended Videos

Atari is trying to dig itself out of its hole with casual and web-based gaming. Their new initiative, Atari GO, will have them drawing on their huge library of classic games to make what sounds to be browser games. That’s where the money is, you know.

Their goal is to attract independent devs and distribution partners to their GO initiative. They’ll revamp old games and make new ones, and then work to get them embedded on popular websites through a revenue sharing program. According to Gamespy, about a dozen developers are already signed up for Atari GO. Beyond that, plenty of revamped classic Atari games are set to launch in the coming months.
