This is the newest weekly mutation for Left 4 Dead 2, “Last Man on Earth.” It sounds — more than any other game mode before it — super risky, which is exactly what Valve should be aiming for. In my mind, it can play out one of two ways: it’s either going to be painfully frustrating or tense beyond all belief.
No matter how “Last Man on Earth” goes over with the fans, it absolutely seems worth trying out at least once. Getting the community back into the game seems to be the driving force behind these mutations; mission success?
