New Game+ mode coming to Assassin’s Creed: Mirage in December

Experience Basim's story again.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage features many beloved elements from earlier franchise titles while presenting many modern conveniences. Disappointingly, New Game+ wasn’t present at launch, though Ubisoft will fix that soon.

The New Game+ mode update will hit AC: Mirage in December. It’s free for all players, and it’ll also include a permadeath mode to test the best assassins. We don’t know what else the update will bring, but Ubisoft promises that more details will follow soon.

Mirage follows Basim as he goes from a petty thief and pickpocketer to a deadly assassin. It is set in Baghdad, and the region is filled to the brim with gorgeous sights and well-hidden collectibles. For players who want to experience the ancient city again but don’t want to lose all their upgrades, the update will be a godsend.

The trend of games not launching with a New Game+ mode is an increasingly annoying and increasingly common problem. Fortunately, it wasn’t enough to completely ruin Mirage, and upon launching, it received relatively good reviews from critics who appreciated the more streamlined approach it takes.

Things are quite busy in the Assassin’s Creed world, as AC: Nexus VR launches on November 16 on the Meta Quest 2 and 3. A new mainline titled codenamed Red is also in the works. It’s set in Japan, which satisfies a desire many fans have had for the franchise for years.
