Delicate but deadly

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 Season 2 Reloaded update brought with it some new cosmetics and challenges for players to tackle. One of the most popular new weapon camos is the Winds of Ash Warzone 2.0 and MW2 skin. This one requires players to have deadly accuracy.

The Warzone 2.0 and MW2 Winds of Ash camo is a new weapon skin players can unlock during Season 2 Reloaded. It is part of the Path of the Ronin limited-time event that has been going on since the start of Season 2.

This event features plenty of challenges for players to complete for rewards. The latest set of missions include the Winds of Ash camo. To unlock this weapon skin, players must complete a single mission for their weapon category of choice.

The missions differ slightly from category to category but the general idea is to get a certain number of headshots. You can find the full set of Winds of Ash challenges below:

  • Assault rifles: Players must land at least 125 headshots with an AR
  • Battle rifles: Land at least 75 headshots
  • Launchers: Eliminate players 40 times using a launcher
  • LMGs: Get 75 headshots in total
  • Marksman rifles: 50 headshots
  • Melee weapons: Eliminate 30 players by attacking from behind them
  • Pistols: 30 headshots
  • Shotguns: 50 headshots
  • SMGs: 100 headshots
  • Sniper rifles: 50 headshots

As you can see, with the exception of melee weapons and launchers, the goal is to get plenty of headshots. Assault rifle and SMG players have the roughest set since they have to get at least 100 each. The benefit of this challenge, though, is that if you are able to complete the challenge for SMGs, for example, it will unlock the Winds of Ash camo for all SMGs.

Even if you didn’t use the Lachmann Sub, for example, for the headshots, it will be able to equip that skin from then on once unlocked. But this also means if you want this weapon camo for all weapon categories, you’ll have to complete 10 separate challenges before the season is over.

How to quickly complete the Path of the Ronin challenge

When it comes to completing these Path of the Ronin missions as soon as possible, there are a couple of ways to do this. First off, players should stick to MW2’s Shipment map or another smaller map and its various modes, if you own this game.

Shipment is a tiny map that allows for you to essentially find a solid hiding spot and then pick away at enemy after enemy as they instantly spawn in. It’s absolute chaos but this is one way to get a couple dozen headshots in a single match.

Grind this map over and over, and you should be able to get all of the headshots for that particular weapon class in just a couple of hours at best. Now, what about those players who don’t own the latest Call of Duty game?

In that case, I suggest completing these missions on Ashika Island. The Resurgence map is much smaller, offers respawns, and lets you get a fair number of headshots in a single match if you find a solid vantage point.
