Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 is launching its Season 2 Reloaded update. This mid-season update brings with it the other half of the second season’s content to battle royale, including a new weapon, raid, limited-time event, and even a multiplayer map for Modern Warfare 2.

Warzone 2.0 Season 2 Reloaded release date and time

Warzone 2.0 Season 2 isn’t over just yet. As we approach the midway point of the current second season of the battle royale game and its counterpart, Modern Warfare 2, the Season 2 Reloaded update is just ahead.

This new update will bring with it a ton of new content for players to check out. It is essentially the second half of the Season 2 package. With it, players will be able to enjoy new free DLC for both Warzone 2.0 and its mainline multiplayer companion, Modern Warfare 2.

The new Warzone 2.0 Season 2 Reloaded update drops on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 9 am PT (12 pm ET). When this update drops, players will be able to download and install the patch to gain access to all of the below content.

Raid Episode 2, explained

One of the first new additions in Warzone 2.0 Season 2 Reloaded is Raid Episode 2. The second raid episode brings with it the continuation of the storyline from the first one. It follows Captain Price, Gaz, and Farah as they navigate a ballistic missile facility.

Players can grab a couple of friends and tackle this intensely challenging mission to stop the missile and receive some special rewards in the process. Like the first episode, this new raid will feature unique class loadout kits for players to use in Episode 2.

Ranging from the Assault class that focuses on combat to the Medic class for reviving teammates, players have to pick wisely to tackle some of the toughest PvE content in this Call of Duty game. Players should find friends they can communicate with to succeed in the various difficulty levels of the new raid.

Himmelmatt Expo MW2 multiplayer map

For those who prefer to play online multiplayer in MW2, there is also a new map in this update. The new location is Himmelmatt Expo and is found in the Swiss Alps. In the middle of a conference at this resort, tragedy strikes and it is up to players to battle it out for control.

The Expo map is one of the largest 6v6 multiplayer locations so far in MW2. It features several indoor areas around the convention center and resort. Plus, plenty of outdoor sections around the sauna and snowy mountains.

Himmelmatt Expo will feature the usual game modes of Domination, Search & Destroy, Hardpoint, and more. It is currently uncertain if this new multiplayer map will also make its way to Ranked Play or not, but it looks like a solid addition nonetheless.

Drop Zone multiplayer mode details

Alongside a new multiplayer map, the popular Drop Zone game mode returns. This multiplayer game mode features a unique take on the usual Hardpoint experience. There are points around the map that appear every minute or so for teams to capture.

If a team is able to hold a Drop Zone for 15 seconds, they will receive a drop of a killstreak to use. These streaks can turn the tides of battle and ensure control of the zone for even longer to accumulate points and win the match.

Drop Zone will be joined by new party modes like One in the Chamber and All or Nothing.

Warzone 3rd Anniversary Celebration

Alongside the new raid, there is also a new limited-time event in Warzone 2.0. This new event is the Warzone 3rd Anniversary Celebration. It features a celebration of three years since the launch of the ground-breaking original Call of Duty Warzone.

This event will feature new cosmetic rewards and challenges for players to complete in battle royale. The event will only stick around for a short time so players are encouraged to participate while they can.

New Tempus Torrent weapon, explained

There is a brand new weapon with this update, known as the Tempus Torrent. This is a new marksman rifle that is one of the fastest in its class. It has a nice balance between an assault rifle and a sniper, allowing it to dominate mid-range.

It can defeat players in two shots, except for mid-range headshots that will one-shot enemies. Players have the option to unlock the Tempus Torrent marksman rifle through a special Season 2 Reloaded challenge or buy it in a store bundle.
