Whatcha been playing this week, Destructoid?

“The sites they are a-changin'” sang Bob Dylan (I think). As you might have noticed, our beloved site is also a-changin’. This undertaking was never likely to be a “Flip a switch and done” affair, and a dedicated tech team has been working every day this week to iron out a variety of bugs and glitches — some you can see, others you can’t. They’re sneaky that way. It’s an extended process, one that affects both you and us, and for now we’ll all have to sit tight while the cogs fall into place.

Thank you for the patience and understanding that many of you have shown over the past week. I understand and sympathize with your frustrations, which affect me and the team just as much as the community. Ultimately, this overhaul is an effort to add structure, security and spotlights to the good ship Destructoid, which has been made of sticky tape and potato skins for the longest time. The tech team, (whom my heart goes out to), are aware of all of your concerns, and normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Destructoid’s background tech and infrastructure are completely out of my jurisdiction, but regardless, please accept my sincerest apologies for any ongoing inconvenience. It’s temporary, it’s being addressed, and it’ll come good in the end. Bear with us, my darlings.

Anywhoooo… it’s Saturday, so I hope that you all had a good week and have a neat-o weekend ahead. Don’t forget to dive into the comments and sharing with us the gaming fun that is filling your small hours. I know that many of you might still be waiting on your front-page accounts to be reactivated by Disqus, but if you have a second to check in with us below, we’d love to hear from y’all!

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
