To keep players interested from major patch to major patch (5.1, 5.2 and so on), Square Enix will dole out minor celebrations here and there in Final Fantasy XIV. Usually they’re themed around a holiday without outright saying that that holiday is: case and point with “Starlight Celebration,” which is literally Christmas in Eorzea.

The seasonal event kicked off recently and will run through December 31 at 6:59AM PT, so you still have some time to get into the festive mood. To kick it off you’ll want to head to the big hub Old Gridania (X: 10.2, Y:9.4) and speak to the NPC Amh Garanjy. From there she’ll give you a few basic repeatable quests, with rewards you can exchange for things like a Santa outfit for your Chocobo mount, as well as a festive song for your jukebox (Orchestrion), a wall-mounted picture for your living space, an edible tabletop cake arrangement and a Goobbue wreath.

If you’re out of town don’t fret too much: events framed around real holidays typically return every year, albeit with different rewards. This year is a step-up from 2018 with the Chocobo Barding outfit, but nothing will beat 2017’s Santa bear mount.
