Whatcha been playing this week, Destructoid?

They’ll never get a load of me

Hey folks, thanks for joining us on your sweet Saturday morning. I hope the week has been good to you and that the weekend lets you blow off a little steam. 2020 certainly seems like a year that has hit the ground running, (February already!) but I hope you’re all finding plenty of opportunity to take time out for yourselves and those around you. Make it happen this weekend. I’m ready to lay a wager that you deserve it.

The fighting game community also got to relax a little this week, with the news that Mortal Kombat 11 would not be making the main stage at this year’s EVO event. While this is pretty disappointing for the MK kommunity, they can at least take heart that they no longer have to fear me turning up and upsetting ALL the kompetition. Sure, my online win/loss ratio is about 50/50… well 40/60… 37/63… but I was pretty confident that I’d just turn up on the day and waste everybody. And now that the gory fighter will not be putting in an appearance, I’m choosing to believe that’s definitely what would have happened. You’ll just have to imagine me holding that trophy instead, I’m afraid.

Final Kombat?… Umm… I can’t go. I’m allergic to Chicago.

While I head back to the NetherRealm to stumblefuck through more clunky, Wi-Fi-powered Ranked Sets, you should drop us a note below and fill us in on the games you’ve been enjoying this week. The quiet-even-by-January-standards release period means we’ve all gotten a backlog bonus month this winter, so I hope you’re spending yours wisely. Whatever you’re playing, let us know.

Have a wonderful weekend, from all of us at Destructoid.
