After young Madelyn finds her family kidnapped and her faithful companion – Fritzy – killed by an evil sorcerer, the plucky knight-in-training dons her armour and takes up her lance in a quest to restore purity to the land. That’s the story of Battle Princess Madelyn, coming to multiple platforms next month.
The retro-styled arcade platformer, which you can check out in the trailer below, takes its cues from titles of yore, such as Super Ghouls ‘n’ Ghosts, Actraiser, Wonder Boy III and other such adventures. Players will guide Madelyn, reunited with the now ghostly Fritzy, through ten levels of monster-mashing fun. Hidden collectibles, huge boss fights, special weapons, and more await Madelyn on her storybook journey into the unknown.
Battle Princess Madelyn launches December 6 on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. A PS Vita and, believe it or not, even a Wii U port will follow in 2019.
