GOG ending Brazilian language support, will continue to sell games

I blame Neymar

Somewhat surprising news coming out of GOG today. Starting this Monday, GOG will cease to support the Brazilian Portuguese language on their site but will maintain the ability to buy games with Brazilian real when publishers allow their games to be sold there.

So what will they be ceasing come this Monday? Running the Portuguese newsletter through the old Google Translate reveals that Portuguese language support for future newsletters, game descriptions, and “administration of dedicated forums and social media channels” will no longer be maintained.

The newsletter is a little vague about why this is happening, explaining that they can no longer fully support the market to the standard they hold themselves to so they have decided to end support entirely. Seems a little strange to me but then again no one can know what is happening behind the scenes.

Estamos encerrando o suporte à versão brasileira do GOG.COM [GOG]
