Fortnite for Nintendo Switch pops over two million downloads in a day

You’re gonna need a bigger fort

Nintendo of America have proudly tweeted that the Switch port of Epic Games’ pop-culture phenomenon, Fortnite, amassed a staggering two million downloads within the first 24 hours of release.

Announced during Tuesday’s Nintendo Direct presentation and released shortly thereafter, Switch owners rushed to get a piece of the battle royale action, leaping straight off of the rocket bus and into the thick of it, running ramps, building defences and awkwardly shooting in efforts to be the last person standing.

The smash launch of Fortnite Switch is yet another successful milestone for Epic Games, who recently touted that their cartoony take on the genre has been played by 125 million players and counting. No doubt this number is set only to rise as 2018 continues.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android.
