Shenmue I and II re-releases hit a three month delay in Japan, but sport an awesome boxed set

It also has a sassy Ren of Heavens pose

Right now, the Shenmue I and II re-releases are set for an August 21 release in the west, but it’s going to take a little longer for them to arrive in Japan.

Sega just announced that that region will be getting it a little later on November 22, but they’ll have a fancy collector’s edition to make up for it. It’s 5,990 yen and will come with both games, a pretty box, and a two-disc soundtrack with over 40 songs. The standard edition is 3,990 yen — both come with a poster.

Whenever I see a game release later in Japan despite the fact that it was developed by a studio in Japan, I’m immediately reminded of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Getting that a whole two weeks early was pretty wild.
