Sony pulls game that allows everyone to get a near instant Platinum trophy

A game that literally advertised itself as the fastest way to get a Platinum trophy on PS4 has been pulled by Sony. Billed as a surefire way to earn a Platinum “in less than an hour,” ★★★★★ 1000 Top Rated is a tile-swapping “puzzler” priced at $0.98. The very first thing I thought of was that Avatar game for Xbox 360, The Burning Earth, where 1000G can be achieved in minutes.

Before they’re re-instated, Sony wants them to rename the game and remove their blatant trophy advertisements. It seems reasonable enough given that Sony wants to have a little bit of quality control on their platform, but the studio itself is apparently just doing a bit of viral marketing for their main squeeze, selling PS4 themes.

It’s a weird situation all over, but a harmless hustle (that Sony is on top of) all the same.
