Pokemon Go is about to roll out daily bonuses

Stockpile that Stardust

There was a brief window of time when I would specifically leave the house for Pokémon Go in the hopes of filling out that accursed Pokédex, but now I won’t even bother to open the app when I’m out running errands. Even with much-needed new features, I don’t think there’s any bringing me back at this point aside from expanding the roster to include the Gold and Silver generation of Pokémon.

Some of you are hanging in there, though, much like I am still clinging onto the nefarious Pokémon Shuffle because I’ve lost control. Soon, you’ll be able to benefit from another incremental improvement: daily bonuses. By playing day after day, you can rack up extra experience, Stardust, and other items.

Catching a Pokémon every day will earn the following bonus:

  • 500 XP
  • 600 Stardust

Catching a Pokémon every day for 7 days straight will earn the following larger bonus:

  • 2,000 XP
  • 2,400 Stardust

Visiting a PokéStop and spinning the Photo Disc every day will earn the following bonus:

  • 500 XP
  • A number of additional items

Visiting a PokéStop every day for 7 days straight will earn the following larger bonus:

  • 2,000 XP
  • A greater number of additional items

If you catch a Pokémon at any time on Tuesday local time, you’ll be eligible for the next daily bonus on Wednesday at 12 AM local time.

These rewards could help a ton early on, but for power users, I don’t see this as a particularly substantial update. As ever, Niantic could stand to get features like this out at a quicker pace.

More bonuses, more fun! Daily bonuses are coming… [Pokemon Go]
