The International 2015’s prize pool is now over $10 million

Two-thirds of the way there!

Dota 2′s prize pool for the upcoming Internaltional 2015 tournament has just passed $10M. The pool is increased each time players buy a Compendium, which allows players to make predictions and bask in the glory of all of the tiered rewards. Speaking of rewards, the second round of Immortal items were just released for Compendium owners, and this $10M milestone unlocks the third set of Immortals.

The second set of Immortals took some time to be released after being unlocked because Valve wanted more time to polish them instead of releasing them quickly. Another notable goal already unlocked is the short film contest. Considering what some people have made without $20,000 to inspire them, I can’t wait for the winners of this!

The $11M goal is the next up, and other than the Axe comic, I think that’s the goal I’m most looking forward to out of the ones yet to be unlocked. There may be secret goals along the way, as it was at this point last year that Techies was announced via a surprise milestone during the fundraising.
